New Year's Eve Brisbane

Where to spend New Year’s Eve in Brisbane

Whether you believe in new beginnings or you just enjoy a good party, New Year’s Eve is always one of the biggest nights of the year in Brisbane. To help you welcome 2013, we’ve created a list of some of the watering holes hosting festivities well into the early hours.

To partake in celebrations overlooking Brisbane River, you can head to Stokehouse Q, Cove Bar & Dining or Byblos. Stokehouse Q is hosting a lavish five-course dinner with live entertainment and views of the fireworks, while nearby at Cove Bar & Dining, you can ring in 2013 with canapes, cocktails and the sounds of a live DJ. Byblos is also hosting its annual New Year’s bash, and this year there’ll be appetisers, a five-hour drinks package, DJs, live entertainment and free buses into Fortitude Valley after 12:30 am. Limes Hotel Rooftop Bar may not have river views, but you will be able to see the city light up in all its glory while you sip New Year-themed cocktails. If you’d prefer not to line up for a taxi after the party, Limes Hotel is offering accommodation packages for the night.

If you fancy dressing up a little, Laruche is transforming into a Caribbean oasis for its Cuba-themed celebrations, while Junk Bar’s Hawaiian Luau Party will keep the tropical theme flowing. The USA will also be represented at The Villager Hotel’s Vegas-themed party and at the Miami-style festivities happening at Bacchus. You’ll need to don your finest attire to celebrate at Fourth Wall and Next Door Kitchen & Bar – both will be channelling the speakeasies of yesteryear – and to party at Canvas, where visitors will be swanning about in black and gold while listening to funk and soul tunes.
