Sip some delectable Ethiopian java from Mankira Coffee

In case you hadn’t heard, Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee. If you doubt this statement try a cup of premium roasted coffee from Mankira, a distributor of the finest beans sourced directly from Ethiopia and see for yourself.

The highlands of Ethiopia are home to countless varieties of coffee beans. Thanks to a mixture of altitude, diversity of flavours and the processing methods used, the beans coming from Ethiopia are of the highest quality. Tweodros ‘Teddy’ Fekadu was born in Eritrea, grew up in Ethiopia and now lives on the Gold Coast. Teddy started Mankira Coffee in 2014 after visiting Mankira forest – reportedly the birthplace of coffee – to interview the local coffee farmers. After researching coffee for over ten years, Teddy began to notice that Australian coffee drinkers were becoming increasingly interested in the origins of their coffee, thus Mankira Coffee was created to bring the best Ethiopian beans Down Under.

Mankira Coffee sells two varieties of coffee – a signature blend of Ethiopian beans and Yirgacheffe Kochere, a single origin option that boasts a naturally sweet aroma with citrus and floral undertones. Beans can be ground fresh to order based on your preferred brewing method. You can find Mankira Coffee at various markets around Brisbane as well at The Jerky Nuts Shop in Enoggera.
