Harajuku Gyoza has opened its third Brisbane venue, this time bringing its famous dumplings and lively staff to South Bank.

Grey Street’s new Harajuku Gyoza is inviting its hungry fans to take a seat ringside and watch fresh dumplings being cooked daily in the middle of the bar. The short but sweet menu focuses on the Japanese street-food staple gyoza, dishing up grilled and poached varieties stuffed with pork, duck, chicken, prawn or vegetables. Step through the giant wooden door to the animated greeting of “Irasshaimase!” and take a seat at a long table, in a booth or at the bar.

Open from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm every day, Harajuku Gyoza complements its dumpling offerings with izakaya sides, don dishes and ramen, as well as Japanese refreshers like cold Kirin on tap, umeshu and saké. If you’ve still got space left in the belly after the feast, be sure to sample a dessert gyoza filled with Nutella and banana, salted caramel or peanut butter and white chocolate. The new venue joins existing Harajuku Gyoza restaurants in Fortitude ValleyIndooroopilly and Potts Point, Sydney, and sits just a stone’s throw from its sister ice-cream joint, Nitrogenie.
