Australia’s biggest food festival visits Brisbane

Sydney diners have been spoilt with 15 years of Good Food Month feasting, Melbourne joined the fun last year, Canberra has enjoyed its fair share of festivities and now Brisbane diners will enjoy a very delicious July as more than 150 events pop up in venues across the city and suburbs.

Eating may be a necessary part of our everyday survival, but the mob behind Good Food Month know that it’s also a primary pathway to happiness. Over four very delicious weeks from next Tuesday July 1 to Thursday July 31, Brisbane diners will be undoing their top buttons and setting their appetites upon an extensive program of degustations, demonstrations, pop-up events, bar hops and more. As part of the nation’s biggest food festival, the Brisbane Times Good Food Month will plate up the best local dishes and events to celebrate the abundance of produce and talent in our region.

From Thursday July 17 to Sunday July 27, the very first Night Noodle Markets will assemble local favourites like Bird’s Nest Yakitori & Bar, Fat Noodle, Peng You China Kitchen & Bar and Zagyoza to deliver an Asian-inspired hawker market to South Bank, while the Let’s Do Lunch series summons munchers for affordable set lunches with matched drinks at some of Brisbane’s finest venues. Hats Off Dinners invite local chefs to cast aside their usual menus and indulge their culinary fantasies by taking on new cuisines and styles, while An Afternoon with the Stars will see Peter Gilmore, Ryan Squires and Andrew McConnell sharing their secrets at a masterclass-style event. Browse the full program of supper clubs, parties, rooftop and laneway events and more online.
