Take shelter from the cold inside Fortitude Valley’s Empire Hotel

Wind, rain and cold are three terrible ingredients for a good night out. Thankfully you don’t need to let the poor weather ruin , as the Empire Hotel is the perfect haven for hearty food and some delicious cocktails thanks to its new winter menu.

The Empire Hotel has occupied a few different roles in its storied existence – a popular party and live music destination, trendy eatery and laid-back bar. The venue is still all of these things, but one more label you can add is a comfy winter retreat. We’re not talking open fireplaces and hunky ski instructors – we talking about comfort food, lively entertainment and great winter cocktails, which is just as good in our opinion. Empire Hotel is currently offering a great winter menu of bites that will entice you from the cold pavement of Brunswick Street into the warm surrounds of the building’s interior.

The kitchen sources its produce from the sea, the land, the sky and the garden – with the menu divided accordingly. Dishes like grilled barramundi and salt and pepper calamari share menu space with the likes of crumbed camembert, roast pork on stone baked ciabatta, braised brisket cheese burgers, southern fried chicken, chicken waffle cones and vegetable lasagne. The bar also stocks plenty of cocktails, beer, cider and wine to keep your insides warm, as well as weekly events such as trivia nights, bingo and live music performances. Don’t spend the early part of your evening debating on where to go – get out of the cold and into Empire Hotel quick-smart.
