Brisbane’s very first Dumpling Republic is set to swing open the doors at 11:00 am on Friday October 3, offering an extensive menu of dumplings and Asian classics with a modern twist. Riding high from considerable success in Robina on the Gold Coast, the venue is now making its debut in Brisbane, settling in to an elegant upper-level space overlooking Queen Street Mall.

Fresh ingredients are efficiently whipped into zesty dishes available to eat in or takeaway for those time-pressed city workers. Choose from a wide selection of pan-fried or steamed specialty dumplings made fresh to order, or graze on hot or cold snacks, soups, homemade noodles, stir-fries or fried rice. The star of the dumpling menu is undoubtedly the soup-filled pork xiao long bao, which might require an adult-sized bib but is certainly worth the risk of a spill. Assemble your own banquet and pop the lid on other delicious baskets, featuring fillings ranging from prawn and scallop to chicken and leek, and pumpkin and ginger to wagyu beef and onion. Those not in the mood for dumplings can chow down on Peking duck wraps, crispy chicken wings with hot sauce or Shanghai-style drunken chicken.
