Chargrilled nibbles and flamboyant cocktails meet a 360° city view at Dandy’s Rooftop Bar in the recently renovated South Brisbane icon. The Fox Hotel has undergone an extensive makeover, re-emerging with several new venues tucked under its arm, including The Meatball Company and The Long Bar. Now a rooftop garden bar and grill has joined the Fox family, taking design cues from the tennis clubs of yesteryear and combining a colourful birdcage-laden bar with hanging white pendants that symbolise tennis balls when viewed from the street below.

Peruse the extensive cocktail list and you’ll find themed creations like the cheeky Steffi Does Dallas, Serena’s Cerveza, Pat Cash Smash and the Tennis Open Iced Tea, which sees coconut Sailor Jerry rum mixed with Falernum, house-made coconut-and-pineapple iced tea and finished with a lick of absinthe. Dandy’s signature frozen ginger beer brew boasts a freshly pressed ginger and ale spice mix, which has done time in the slushie machine alongside new friends Gosling’s Black Seal and fresh citrus. The new venue also features a dedicated chargrill kitchen pumping out dishes like pulled pork and freshly caught lobsters, which are sure to sate the appetite after a cocktail or two.
