Choice aplenty at Chocolate Orange on Latrobe

Chocolate Orange on Latrobe boasts three levels of comfortable cafe dining with a menu packed to the brim with sweet treats and hearty, wholesome meals.

Two-and-a-half years ago, mother and daughter combo Anastasia Morris and Naomi O’Kearney opened Chocolate Orange Espresso in Bardon. A hub for great coffee and food, Chocolate Orange Espresso has been a popular spot for residents of Brisbane’s west. Due to plans to demolish the premises in September 2015, Anastasia and Naomi decided to open a new location on Latrobe Terrace in Paddington. Boasting a kitchen nearly four times the size of its Bardon counterpart, Chocolate Orange on Latrobe has taken over the space formerly occupied by Black Cat Books. The spacious cafe spreads out over three levels – the first for more formal dining, the second for casual catch-ups and finally on the back deck for a peaceful feed amongst the trees.

The menu is filled to the brim with baked goods, gourmet sandwiches and salads as well as a comprehensive all-day breakfast menu and lunch goodies. Damien Pfeffer has come onboard as head chef and has complemented Anastasia and Naomi’s love for baked treats with some new additions. Newcomers to Chocolate Orange on Latrobe are encouraged to try the truly decadent twice-cooked Mars Bar cakette or one of the moreish treats from the patisserie cabinet such as the fresh pear and raspberry bread, salted caramel and pecan slice or poached plum and almond tart. The full menu includes delicious choices such as sun-dried tomato frittatas, spicy pulled-pork burgers and spinach and ricotta tarts alongside smoothies, milkshakes and a kids menu for the little ones.
