Boundary Line Bistro transforms a footy club into foodie destination

The Morningside Panthers Football Club has changed the game when it comes to local club dining, welcoming a bunch of top-notch chefs to open up a modern bistro overlooking the oval.

The local football club is often more than a spot to watch some local sport. It’s a place where the locals gather on a regular basis, forging community bonds and enjoying a good time. The Morningside Panthers recently overhauled its front dining space, converting it into a new eating destination that adds a bit more flair to the club’s menu while still bolstering community spirit. Rhett Willis and Heath Weber are two chefs that have spent most of their careers working in around Australia in some of the country’s best restaurants. Before their careers took them interstate, the boys worked at 152 Oxford in Bulimba, so when their journey brought them home the opportunity to do something completely different in the area was exciting.

The front room has been remodelled and redesigned to overlook the oval where games take place every weekend. Access to boundary side gives patrons the chance to enjoy alfresco dining under lights at night. Boundary Line Bistro boasts two menus full of delicious eats and pub food taken to another level. Diners can snack on share plates of chilli crunch wings and mac and cheese croquettes before tucking into steak frites, chicken parmy, lamb shoulder or coral trout burgers. A kids menu and a sundae menu is also on hand for the little ones. The kitchen has also put together a bar and oval menu, full of snacks that can be enjoyed in the main bar or outside near the grounds. Cheese burgers, popcorn chicken and salt and pepper squid are available with packaging suitable for picking up on the run. Boundary Line Bistro will look to offer a weekend breakfast buffet in the future. For more information, head to the Stumble Guide.
