Sample delicate sashimi at Bishamon Japanese Restaurant
One could easily be forgiven for missing Bishamon Japanese Restaurant, a hidden gem in the heart of Spring Hill’s business district.
Don’t be fooled by its inconspicuous location – this unassuming Japanese restaurant serves up some of the finest Japanese fare in Brisbane. Delicate sashimi is sliced thinly and carefully arranged like a piece of art, the plate showcasing the expert knife skills of Bishamon’s head chef. The delicate flavour of salmon, tuna, king fish and squid complements a warm glass of sake, a traditional accompaniment to the sashimi platter.
Crisp gyoza are served with a perfectly balanced dipping sauce and the takoyaki is lashed with a typical dressing of Japanese mayonnaise, okonomi sauce, aonori and katsuobushi flakes. The all-you-can-eat Sukiyaki Hot Pot special is a standout, with wafer-thin marbled Wagyu beef, Japanese vegetables and a flavoursome broth, allowing diners to cook the dish themselves and enjoy in shared company.
