Windsor State School Heritage Day Fete

Windsor State School celebrates 150 years with the Windsor State School Heritage Day Fete, a grand day out for the whole family, full of old-fashioned fun. The school’s magnificent heritage-listed buildings will also be open to the public as part of Brisbane Open House.

Sample the vintage food and drink, including traditional lemonade, strawberries and cream, vintage bakes and preserves, snow cones, fairy floss, a traditional BBQ, a 70s style tuckshop and much more. There will also be a beautiful tea emporium where high tea and Devonshire tea will be served for adults and children. There will be a unique program of interactive historical activities, including a detailed exhibition of the history of the school, heritage tours, and workshops and activities for the young and young at heart. Activities on the day also include an old-time laundry, copybook writing, woodworking, mock air raid drills, etiquette lessons, replica classrooms, 70s Life Be In It activities, and old-fashioned games on the lawn. Newstead House and the Windsor and Districts Historical Society will also be there, along with a vintage Yellow Cabs and Penny Farthing bicycles.

Windsor State School Heritage Day Fete also includes reunion events for thousands of past students from Windsor State School. So come and join with current and past students, parents and teachers in celebrating the last 150 years.
