Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

Celebrating its 75th year, the award-winning Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers continues to blossom as a spring-tacular seasonal extravaganza. With live music, local food and wine, activities, activations and acres upon acres of breathtaking botanical beauty this four-week festival is set to stun.

Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is first and foremost a time for appreciating flower power, so be sure to check more than 40 million petals on display across the city’s famous parks and public spaces like Queens Park, and Laurel Bank Park. Explore the secret lives of trees and check out the park after dark with the twilight tours of Laurel Bank Park. Prepare yourself for this year’s Grand Central Floral Parade on Saturday September 21, where street performers, carnival characters and roving entertainment will escort the stunning floral floats with maximum jubilation benefitting this year’s Golden Jubilee theme – It’s A Party!

Within the four-week affair there are a number of returning perennial favourites and new blooms, like Symphony Under the Stars where the full Queensland Symphony Orchestra, performing under the baton of Chief Conductor Umberto Clerici, will serenade you under starry skies in the iconic Queens Park Amphitheatre. Discover a garden of delights with over 50 uniquely crafted floral hanging baskets at the Hanging Baskets at Cobb+Co Museum (September 6 to October 7) or head down to Sideshow Alley in Queens Park for a kaleidoscopic affair of thrill-seeking rides, fairy floss, dagwood dogs, show bags and more.

Don’t forget the Festival of Food and Wine – a three-day fiesta with the best in regional produce and home-grown live music acts. There’s also the #trEATS region-wide food trail which offers signature springtime-inspired dishes for delightfully affordable prices. There’s a huge range of foodie tours for nomadic gourmands including the Sip and Stroll and Talking Pubs walking tours for those who prefer a pint with their promenade.
