The Australian Body Art Festival 2015
The Australian Body Art Festival (ABAF) launches an exciting arts program and exhilarating guest artist line up, over a three-day creative collaboration of body painting, fashion, street art, music, photography, beauty and street culture from Friday October 16 to Sunday October 18 at Eumundi, Sunshine Coast. This year the event is themed ‘POP Trashion’, you can expect a cool melding of the Neo Warhol movement with enviro fashion style – calling for participants to reinvent fashion in a completely cool, new way on a human canvas.
Marquee guest for the ABAF 2015 program is internationally renowned Australian artist Emma Hack, who was propelled to global stardom for her creative body painting handiwork in singer Gotye’s haunting international hit Somebody That I Used to Know (feat. Kimbra). Emma will be joined by a host of talented artisans including Sydney body artist Julie Tattam, Melbourne Special FX artist Juliet Bradford, Queensland airbrush maestro Symon Molony and Sunshine Coast local artist Nina Neher, as well as award-winning hairdressing creative Ali Holmes and fashion guru Peter Dwyer, a stylist, costume and wearable art designer and also department head of Sydney’s renowned Whitehouse School of Design.
Make sure you check out Lost Movements Arts Jam on Saturday October 17, which will feature a range of activities including multi-award winning body artists, wearable art design, live music, slam poetry, graffiti, burlesque and so much more. Plus, a range of workshops, across many body art and wearable art disciplines will be offered at the Friday Education Program on Friday October 16.
