This site-specific paper cut installation illustrates the chronological history of migration in Australia through an evolving landscape featuring the motif of the black sheep. The White Australia policy was implemented shortly after Federation in 1901, but by 2013-14 only 12 percent of migrants to Australia originated from the United Kingdom as opposed to 20 percent from India and 14 percent from The People’s Republic of China. The artwork will develop over the duration of seven weeks with Pamela See creating elements of the work live in the window space.
