La Sylphide
The much-loved romantic tale of La Sylphide will be performed in the QPAC Playhouse by the Queensland Ballet. Though originally debuted in Copenhagen in 1836, this version will take the form of the 1979 award-winning production by Peter Schaufuss. The ballet tells the tale of the Scotsman James, who is woken on his wedding day by a beautiful winged sylph as she professes her love for him and bewitches him to leave his fiancée and lose all he has known.
