The Judith Wright Centre, in partnership with the Queensland Poetry Festival and Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts, invites you to join us to honour the memory of our namesake on the 100th anniversary of her birth. Widely regarded as one of Australia’s most accomplished poets, Judith Wright, born on 31 May 1915, was a champion of the environment and a strong advocate for Indigenous rights.

On the eve of her centenary, the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts is presenting a free public event to recognise Judith’s rich legacy. Hosted by Anne-Marie Te Whiu and David Stavanger, the Directors of the Queensland Poetry Festival, the celebration will feature performances by dance students from the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts and interpretations of Judith Wright’s poetry from local artists. Featuring: Pascalle Burton, Betsy Turcott and Eleanor Jackson, Ross Clark, Dawn Albinger, Bronwyn Lea, Chloe Callistemon, Brett Dionysus and Julie Beveridge.
