Happy Days

Happy Days

Penned by Samuel Beckett in 1961, Happy Days is a play that has drawn close examination from theatre buffs since its debut decades ago. Using minimalist set design and surreal themes, Happy Days tells the tale of Winnie, a lady who is buried to her waist in a desolate environment. Struggling to survive and clinging to past memories by way of her bag of meagre possessions, Winnie is portrayed as both brave and in denial as she slowly sinks further into the earth. Portraying Winnie is Queensland theatre mainstay Carol Burns, who will assuredly bring composure and life to a tale of hopelessness and adaptability.
