Domestic Violence Awareness Luncheon

Domestic Violence Awareness Luncheon

With an estimated one in six women in the Australian workforce* having experienced domestic violence, it is very likely your workplace is being affected by this insidious issue.

The Domestic Violence Awareness Luncheon is an opportunity for the business community to hold meaningful discussions about domestic violence.

The month of May is DV Prevention Month and this event is one way you can show your organisation’s support and help raise money for important Queensland programs.

Hear from Julie McKay, Gender Advisor to the Chief of Defence as she expounds the societal and economic impacts of violence against women and how organisations can play a pivotal and active role in preventing violence from occurring.

We will also hear from a courageous woman who worked in one of the world’s largest engineering companies whilst living through domestic violence in her own home. She will share her story and provide insights into how organisations can better support their staff.

Your attendance and proceeds from a live auction and raffles held at the lunch directly contribute to this worthwhile cause and helps families in need of shelter and assistance.

The University of Queensland is passionate about supporting the business community to hold meaningful conversations about domestic violence and the role of workplaces to support victims.

Inclusions: 2-course premium lunch with beverages
