Art of Zhen, Shan, Ren

The eleventh anniversary of Falun Dafa persecution in China on July 20th 2012 will be acknowledged in the Art of Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truth, Compassion, Tolerance) international art exhibition at C Gallery, Brisbane. Twelve prominent Falun Dafa painters, most of whom are of Chinese heritage, will feature in the ever-evolving exhibition, which has toured more than 50 countries since its debut in 2004 and will run at C Gallery from July 20th until August 4th, 2012. C Gallery owner and curator Troy Williams said the exhibition would give a unique insight into the spiritual practice of Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, and raise awareness of ongoing persecution of 100 million practitioners in China.

The Art of Zhen, Shan, Ren is an extraordinarily moving and inspiring exhibition detailing both the inner spiritual life of Falun Gong practitioners and the human rights tragedy in China. The exhibition deals with the terrifying ordeals people – including the artists themselves – have gone through and will help to raise awareness of what is perhaps the world’s largest non-violent movement.” On July 20th 1999 Falun Gong was banned in China. Since that date many thousands of practitioners have been tortured in an effort to ‘transform’ them. The exhibition of over 40 life-like oil and watercolour paintings in the ‘New Renaissance’ style will include four never before seen works.
