Find tulle and tragedy in The Australian Ballet’s Swan Lake

Despite the onslaught of dancing reality shows hitting screens, classical ballet continues to enamour audiences worldwide. The dance of frothy tulle and delicate grace has been around since the royal courts of the 15th century and to this day is a strong believer of its own traditions. The Australian Ballet is about to tour its production of the devastating romantic tragedy, Swan Lake. The performance has been commissioned especially to coincide with the company’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Within the show, choreographer Stephen Baynes has combined his talents with those of set and costume designer Hugh Colman to create an elaborate and fanciful version of the beloved fairytale.

@ QPAC, February 22 to March 2
