Stringsations Quartet plays at Music in the Gallery, QAG

There is something romantic about the image of a beautifully dressed woman walking down the streets of Paris, stopping to indulge in powder-puff boysenberry meringues, while the sweet sounds of an accordion wafts gently in the crisp morning air. It is so familiar and so novel – the croissants and cafe au laits, the cobbled streets with perfectly lined trees, the white terraces that stand tall on either side of the road.

Transporting visitors to the boulevards of 19th century Paris is Music in the Gallery this Sunday at 2:30 pm at QAG’s Watermall. Featuring Brisbane’s Stringsations Quartet, discover the sounds of Debussy, Ravel, Satie and more composers from the romantic era.

Spend the afternoon with family and friends and bask in some live classical music. Experience the phonetic beauty of some of the most progressive music of the time alongside the art works on display as part of the Modern Woman exhibition.
