Encounter the ethereal Sarah Blasko at QPAC

Refreshingly, Sarah Blasko doesn’t quite resemble every other polished lady carving out a career in the modern music industry. Rather, with her ethereal looks and equally delicate singing style, she has found herself a decidedly loyal group of fans who have helped to cement her position in Australia’s music community.

Sarah has only just released her fourth album, I Awake, and is now introducing it to Australian audiences with a national tour. The Sydney-born singer-songwriter is now based overseas, but has returned for a short circuit of the Australian major cities this month. A regular on the touring circuit, Sarah’s previous musical productions have been critically acclaimed and award-winning – she has previously been nominated for 14 ARIAs and received two (for Best Female and Best Pop Album).

Sarah’s latest musical effort was created overseas in Scandinavia. I Awake was recorded in Stockholm, as well as produced in conjunction with help from the prestigious Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra. Sarah will be recreating the intensity of the album’s multi-layering with the accompaniment of an orchestra when she performs at QPAC this Saturday February 9. Her unique crooning will also be supported by Melbourne act, Wintercoats.
