Local Brisbane musicians celebrate Neil Young
Neil Young’s treasured album On the Beach will be reimagined by local musicians at The Zoo this weekend.
It’s been 40 years since Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young released his fifth studio album, On the Beach. Regardless of whether you’re old enough to remember twitching your shoulders to ‘Revolution Blues’ when it was first released or you’re part of the new generation of Neil Young fans who had to resort to stealing your parents’ vinyl, music lovers are in for one hell of a treat this weekend.
Performing under the moniker The Honeysliders, local Brisbane talents Ben Salter, Andrew Morris, Danny Widcombe, Dan Mansfield and Ben Carstens will come together to perform the classic 1974 album in its entirety. The boys will serenade Gold Coast residents tomorrow, Friday October 24, before a Brisbane show with special guest Luke Peacock at The Zoo this Saturday October 25. Tickets are available online.
