no wonder brings clutter and confusion to Metro Arts
Erika Scott leads an interesting life. In her latest exhibition at Metro Arts, entitled no wonder, Erika uses secondhand fish tanks, torn photographs, boxer shorts, dusters and a living, breathing axolotl to convey what she calls the ‘symptoms’ of collage. Transforming everyday materials to make the notions of beauty, humanity and identity seem peculiar, Erika is interested in fluid and shifting definitions and attitudes. She uses her installations to seek a space where the subjective acknowledges ‘carefully calibrated feeling’. Her season with Metro Arts will run from June 12–29, with an artist talk session on June 19.
