Join the Shakespearean festivities at Much Ado About Nothing

April marks the 400th anniversary since William Shakespeare’s death in 1616 and Queensland Theatre Company are celebrating his works with the staging of his best-loved comedy, Much Ado about Nothing.

Much Ado About Nothing is a romantic comedy that has certainly stood the test of time, and set the scene for the generations of romantic comedies that followed. It is the tale of two pairs of very different sweethearts – one where love is a battlefield and another whose love is a magnificent thing. Intertwined in the couples stories are the people who want them to be together and those who are trying to rip them apart.

Delicious wordplay and classic devices, such as eavesdropping, are the foundation of this comedy. Like many of Shakespeare’s satires, it will plunge you into darkness before you reach the end. Much Ado About Nothing by Queensland Theatre Company is on at QPAC from April 23 to May 15.
