IMA hosts innovative sound art festival Liquid Architecture

After blowing minds in Melbourne, Liquid Architecture heads north with an eye-opening selection of artists who manipulate sound.

The Institute of Modern Art is one of Brisbane’s most innovative, experimental and captivating art and the crown jewel of their 2015 calendar is Liquid Architecture. Showcasing fresh perspectives on the role of art in contemporary consciousness and what innovative processes permeating the field, Liquid Architecture has collected a range of international and Australian creative minds that work predominantly in sound manipulation to showcase ideas and works on October 3 and 4.

Liquid Architecture in 2015 is divided into three themes that explore ideas of productivism, the idea of sound as an acoustic mirror for society and the expression of the pervasiveness of state-corporate eavesdropping, and noise. Attending Liquid Architecture will be virtuosic guitar troubadour Richard Dawson, founder of Opal Tapes and major influence in DIY electronic music Basic House, Australian artists New Wavers, Ragtime Frankie, Dr. James Parker, Alrey Batol, Nicola Morton and Ariel Garten plus many more. Head to the Liquid Architecture website for more information on those exhibiting and performing.
