Westfield Chermside’s Kung-Fusion Night Market celebrates Chinese New Year with a bang
The start of the Chinese New Year is always a cause for celebration. Bringing together the most vibrant aspects of Chinese culture, the Kung-Fusion Night Market will show off all the sights, smells and sounds of an authentic Asian market.
As part of Westfield Chermside’s Chinese New Year Celebrations that are taking place throughout February, the Kung-Fusion Night Market will be a special free one-off event incorporating a variety of tantalising tastes and aromas that are reminiscent of a Chinese food market – complete with activities and entertainment suitable for the whole family.
From 4:00 pm on Friday February 27, the Kung-Fusion Night Market will offer a range of Asian food stalls cooking up sensational delicacies. Market patrons will also be able to take part in exciting activities such as palm reading, oriental make-up and traditional tea ceremonies, and can browse the range goods at the pet treat store. On the entertainment side of things, there will be an abundance of live music and performances from stilt walkers, lion dancers, kung fu break dancers and a fireworks extravaganza that will cap off the evening.
Westfield Chermside’s Chinese New Year Celebrations are open to all ages, and also include lantern workshops and a 15-metre dragon installation in the centre proper. Bring along the whole family and immerse yourself in the vibrant cultural excitement of the Chinese New Year.
