The human brain is examined in Fake It ‘Til You Make It

Based on true experiences of its writers and performers, Fake It ‘Til You Make It takes a look at depression and the lengths people go to cover it up.

Bryony Kimmings and Tim Grayburn are the masterminds behind Fake It ‘Til You Make It, debuting for the first time in Brisbane at the Powerhouse from June 24 to 27. Based on the real-life experiences of both performers, this stage production is an honest yet charming look at the brain and the amazing and dangerous feelings it produces.

Before creating Fake It ‘Til You Make It, Bryony was a London-based performance artist and Tim was an account manager at a leading advertising agency. After forming a relationship, Tim revealed he suffered from clinical depression – a mental illness that threatened to subvert the couple’s relationship. Fake It ‘Til You Make It was constructed from a group of recordings the couple made, sharing their fears, thoughts and emotions. The show is poignant and heartbreaking, but also funny and warming – a must see for those curious about mental illness or those suffering from it themselves.
