TWE Diner en Blanc

Global epicurean picnic Dîner en Blanc Brisbane returns

A mystery location, guests dressed in glamorous white, feasting and dancing under the stars – annual pop-up picnic Dîner en Blanc Brisbane will return this year for its third rendition. The Weekend Edition is excited to be partnering with Dîner en Blanc for 2014 and to announce the date of the next soiree!

In 1988, François Pasquier held a dinner in Paris to reconnect with friends. He asked his dining pals to convene at the Bois de Boulogne, dressed in white so they could all find each other in the Parisian outskirts. Each year, the word-of-mouth dinner grew, with up to 20,000 white-clad guests now meeting annually in Paris’ public spaces. This annual gastronomic affair has since spread worldwide, popping up in almost 40 cities across the globe.

Come Saturday October 11, diners dressed head-to-toe in all-white garb will converge at a surprise public location in Brisbane for annual pop-up picnic Dîner en Blanc Brisbane. Last year’s frivolous soiree saw 2000 people come together along the banks of the Brisbane River at Portside for an evening of gourmet fare, celebratory chatter, live music and dancing.

Melding food, wine, fashion and late-night galavanting, Dîner en Blanc Brisbane invites diners to bring their own tables and chairs, fine china, silverware and table adornments to craft a white-hued evening of elegant wining and dining. This year, patrons can BYO epicurean feast or opt for food partner Dalton Hospitality to prepare a gourmet picnic basket for them.

Registrations are now open to join the waiting list in order to be amongst the lucky locals to secure tickets.

The Weekend Edition is also giving readers the chance to win one of ten double passes to attend its exclusive table at this year’s Dîner en Blanc pop-up picnic on Saturday October 11. Click here to enter.
