The next generation of artistic talent on display at GOMA

Senior visual art students from across Queensland will have their works showcased at the states biggest art gallery for Creative Generation, an exhibition celebrating the prowess of our younger artists.

From April 18 to July 12, dozens of Queensland art students will have their work exhibited at GOMA in Creative Generation – a celebration of the achievements of these young visual artists. The annual exhibition draws its exhibiting artists from those selected for the Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art, which showcases between 30 and 50 works by senior students from metropolitan, regional and remote communities. Now in its 25th year, the awards have helped increase awareness of the conceptual sophistication, technical competence and incredible imagination that can be found within Queensland secondary art schools. The Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art are an initiative of the Department of Education, Training and Employment.
