The Queensland Theatre Company and QPAC are working together to stage the world premiere of the award-winning work based on the life of the Indigenous superstar.

Country Song, originally conceived by Michael Tuahine and penned by Reg Cribb, centres around an artist as he deals with the power of his voice in an increasingly volatile social climate.
Accompanied by a soundtrack of beloved songs, this production won the 2013 Rodney Seaborn Playwright’s Award for New Work and will have its world premiere at QPAC this month. The cast includes Elaine Crombie, David Page, Bradley McCaw, Megan Sarmardin, Michael Tuahine and Tibian Wyles with direction by Wesley Enouch. Followers of Australia’s turbulent social history or lovers of timeless songs should head along and catch the story while you can.
