Brisbane Writers Festival reveals 2015 program
The Brisbane Writers Festival is back for another inspiring year, with plenty of presentations, discussions, masterclasses and kids’ activities on offer around the city.
Local writers, readers and curious onlookers have been putting down their pens and dog-earing their book pages over the past week as they turn their attention to the recently announced program for the 2015 Brisbane Writers Festival. Scheduled to run from Wednesday September 2 to Sunday September 6, the community celebration will bring a smorgasbord of events to venues in and around South Bank’s Cultural Precinct, as well as various libraries across Brisbane and the University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus.
This year’s festival includes a number of highlights, from thought-provoking discussions and debates to inspiring talks and workshops. Join a series of informal gatherings to celebrate our state’s talented voices via Books From Our Backyard, ask your pressing questions at an intimate Q&A session with investigative journalist Jon Ronson, listen in as bright sparks like First Dog on the Moon cartoonist Andrew Marlton, Welsh novelist Sarah Waters and journalist Jessica Rowe share their stories, and be inspired by writer, crafter and activist Anna Branford as she discusses craftivism. Festival Club will also be back with free events over three days as well as the Festival Club Bar on Maiwar Green.
Tickets went on sale last weekend and are available by individual event, a three-session package or the sublime golden ticket. Take a closer look at the program and download the venue map online.
