Kick off September with a bang at Brisbane Festival

You’ve read the festival program, now experience the best of Brisbane firsthand with a range of events taking place from Saturday.

From September 5, the Brisbane Festival will be bringing some of Australia and the world’s best theatre, music, comedy and dance to our fair city. The program is filled to the brim with so many colourful and majestic events that it is a mind-boggling task deciding what to see first. The Spiegeltent and the South Bank Cultural Forecourt each boast a plethora of acts, but first up why not try a few fringe events.

On Saturday through to Monday, QPAC will be hosting Coup Fatal, a Congolese tribute to baroque music. Renée Fleming will also be performing at QPAC, as well as a Parisian dance troupe in Made in France. The QUT Creative Industries precinct will be hosting theatre at The Loft and La Boite, including Adrienne Truscott’s Asking For It, Best Of and Minnie and Mona Play Dead, while the Brisbane Powerhouse is hosting Il Ritorno and Velvet. Brisbane City Hall will be showcasing music through a bunch of free concerts and Palace Centro will be screening a range of incredible movies. Be sure to catch Club Swizzle and Fear & Delight throughout the duration of the Brisbane Festival, both are sure to be highlights.
