Bob Evans returns to Brisbane with Familiar Stranger
Bob Evans is just one of the many colourful threads that makes up the intricate quilt of Australian music. The former Jebediah frontman has long held a successful solo career as an acoustic singer-songwriter and will be returning to play his latest batch of tunes to Brisbane fans this weekend.
While a stagename usually manifests as a particularly flamboyant moniker, in reality it is also adopted as a simplistic alter ego. Men like Freddie Mercury, Elton John and Bob Dylan each worked successfully under a pseudonym that was far simpler than their original birth names. In the same style, Kevin Mitchell has been serenading Australian audiences for years under the stagename Bob Evans.
The man behind the music (whatever name you call him) is back in town with a new album up his sleeve. Bob’s latest release, Familiar Stranger, is the follow-up to The Double Life EP and subsequent acoustic tour. This latest album will be played around the country throughout April and May, and will see Bob drop in to The Zoo on April 13. Joining him on his musical expedition will also be the musical merits of Tigertown and Davey Lane.
