BEAF 2013

BEAF 2013 showcases talented emerging artists

The Brisbane Emerging Art Festival (BEAF) will showcase the talents of Brisbane’s bright sparks this weekend.

From Saturday July 27 until August 2, the Judith Wright Centre will host BEAF 2013 – an exhibition of visual art, performance, experimental and contemporary music, dance, fashion, film, design and spoken word. From 6:00–11:00 pm, the free event will celebrate Brisbane’s creative culture and promote the city’s contemporary artists.

The annual festival was established in 2010 with the vision of highlighting and connecting local artists with their community.  Some of this year’s exhibited visual artists will include Alrey Batol, Courtney Coombs, Christopher Handran, Rachael Haynes, Luke Jaaniste, Sarah Oxenham, Thomas Payne, Sancintya Simpson, Tyza Stewart and Athena Thebus.
