Mixed-use urban village South City Square set for Woolloongabba

A new mixed-use development is underway for the Woolloongabba area, combining residential, retail and commercial opportunities.

South City Square has been mapped out over a 2.1-ha site on the corner of Logan Road and Deshon Street in Woolloongabba, as a joint project between Pellicano and Perri Projects. Approximately 1000 apartments and a hotel are planned across seven towers, with retail set for the ground level across the entire development. The project will have three street frontages, with a forecasted completion value of more than $550 million.

The first tower has been dubbed One South City, with 118 apartments planned over 14 storeys with fashion, services, retail, cafe and restaurant spaces surrounding. South City Square sits within the Woolloongabba Priority Development Area, which has $20 billion committed in infrastructure and urban-renewal funding. The precinct is set to become a new urban centre for Brisbane, located only 2.5 km from the CBD. South City Square will be Pellicano’s fourth Woolloongabba project, following the completion of the Eastwood Apartments and Quest Woolloongabba, along with the current construction of Trafalgar Lane across the road from The Gabba.
