Take home handcrafted woodwork from Roy Schack

Hailing from Denmark, Roy Schack has always appreciated good design and craftsmanship. Combining this with his love of woodworking, Roy creates ready-made and bespoke furniture pieces from his purpose-built studio in Samford Valley.

There is no denying that Danes have exceptional taste when it comes to furniture and homewares design. Born in Denmark, Roy Schack had strong design principles engrained in him from a young age, which have helped to influence his work over the years. After completing studies at the Sturt School of Wood in 1994, Roy opened up shop in Queensland, now working out of his studio tucked in the Samford Valley under the name Roy Schack Fine Furniture. Inspired by his love for Danish culture, the Japanese take on understanding space, and the humility of the Shaker style of furniture design, Roy pays homage to his three influences with his maker’s mark: three sterling-silver dots forming a triangle on each of his handcrafted pieces.

While Roy specialises in bespoke custom commissions, those not concerned with owning a one-off piece can select from his Collection. The first range, CPH, is gains its moniker from Roy’s favourite travel destination, Copenhagen, and reflects the simplicity and minimalism of design akin to his Danish origins. The range features a chair, sofa, cabinet and coffee table, all available in two different types of wood, with upholstery from Warwick Fabrics.
