Roma Street set for $2-million NEST food destination

Early 2015 will see the beginning of Roma Street’s transformation into Brisbane’s newest eat street with the opening of NEST at the Brisbane Transit Centre, a $2-million food, bar and lounge destination.

The much-needed redevelopment will begin in October, taking over the second level at the city end of Brisbane Transit Centre. Currently the Traders Hotel’s in-house restaurant, the space will be gutted and completely redeveloped to accommodate NEST on Roma Street, a modern Asian-fusion restaurant, bar and lounge. The 430-square-metre space will seat 100 people in the restaurant, and expects to attract the 12-million-plus visitors that pass through the transit centre each year. Overlooking the city skyline and Roma Street Parkland, NEST is believed to be the first of a number of new developments in the Roma Street precinct, with plans to make the area a new eat street for Brisbane.
