New hotel Capri by Fraser opens in Brisbane City next week

Brisbane City is about to gain a new hotel, with the opening of the urban-inspired, design-led Capri by Fraser set for Wednesday April 1.

The new hotel sits on the corner of Albert and Mary Streets, the first of its kind in Australia and the fourth Australian property from Frasers Hospitality. Capri by Fraser caters to the ‘always connected’ lifestyle of modern travellers, offering guests a range of e-efficiencies including iPad-activated check-ins, e-concierge, e-print facilities, free WiFi and more. The vibrant hotel residence has been designed by award-winning spatial design specialists Ministry of Design, with features including a live vertical garden and striking art installations. Guests can help themselves to the suite of leisure facilities, such as a 24/7 fully equipped gym, indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna, as well as a hot-spot Mac station and the 24/7 Spin and Play launderette – a laundry with an interactive games room where guests can play foosball or Xbox Kinect between cycles.

Capri by Fraser houses 239 suites, ranging from Studio Deluxe to Capri Club Rooms and One-Bedroom Executives. Each residence has integrated living, kitchenette and bedroom areas, fitted with Herman Miller work chairs, Malin & Goetz bath amenities, modern home entertainment facilities and iPod docking stations. Capri Club Room guests also enjoy exclusive access to the Capri Club Lounge, which serves complimentary breakfast, all-day tea and coffee, evening canapes and beverages. In-house restaurant Asana Capri Brisbane’s menu has been specially designed by chef Pete Evans, showcasing the best Queensland produce and reflecting Pete’s great love of food. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with a combination of Asian and Middle Eastern flavours, and will cater to the health-conscious traveller. Its adjoining cafe will offer coffee from Melbourne scientists The Sensory Lab, as well as sweet treats and paleo grab-and-go snacks.

For those who would like to take a tour of Capri by Fraser, the hotel will be holding Open House at Capri by Fraser on Friday April 17 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Visitors will be able to explore the hotel’s suites and spaces, and will receive a series of clues on arrival to embark on an interactive tour of the building. The open day will feature cooking demonstrations, cheap eats and $2 coffees from The Sensory Lab, as well as opportunities to win prizes. Capri by Fraser just asks for a gold-coin donation upon entry, which will be given to the hotel’s charity partner Oxfam.
