New residential precinct planned for Ann Street in Fortitude Valley

The site occupied by Austral Motors on Ann Street has been pegged for redevelopment, with a DA submitted for two residential towers at the Fortitude Valley location.

The DA has been submitted by Walker Corporation for the site at 801 Ann Street. The location occupies an entire block, running across from Ann to McLachlan Street one way, and flanked by Connor and Morgan Streets the other way. The two-tower development will feature a total of 433 apartments, with 244 one-bedroom, 171 two-bedroom and 18 three-bedroom apartments. Tower one will stretch to 23 storeys, with tower two coming in at 19 storeys.

Sitting adjacent to the Mac & Ann development, the site is proposed to allow for pedestrian activity and cross-block flow, as well as connectivity to the surrounding retail precincts via laneway activations. The Cottee Parker Architects-designed residential precinct will also include seven ground-floor tenancies and a communal plaza and courtyard area, as well as a podium-level recreation deck with a pool and barbecue area and rooftop decks on each tower. Cottee Parker Architects have also designed the new Orion Apartments in Coorparoo, and are on the design team for Destination Brisbane Consortium’s Queens Wharf proposal.
