If your idea of the perfect meal is a fresh baguette and slab of creamy brie, head along for the food alone, with the marketplace offering delicious French fare like rillettes, croissants, filled baguettes and macarons. Stalls featuring home decor, gifts and fashion sit alongside French travel and language services.
New to this year’s festival is the Art & Artisans Pavilion featuring French-inspired artists, jewellers, sculptors and craftspeople. Sway to the sounds of Edith Piaf on accordion and chatter in the native tongue, while little ones can enjoy Le Kids Corner with face painting, cooking activities and workshops. Held in the Cultural Forecourt and Rainforest Green at South Bank Parklands, the Brisbane French Festival is a fun and frivolous day out, rain or shine.
