Pavement Whispers: the Morning After team announces Thai concept Ping Pong for Gasworks Plaza

Yianni Passaris operates on the mantra "no rest for the wicked". Six months on from the opening of his lauded brekkie-roll dispensary Yolk, the hospitality figure (who also operates West End brunch staple Morning After) is embarking on his third foodie venture – but this time he's got a crew at his back helping him deliver. Ping Pong is the name of the forthcoming bar and eatery, which aims to serve authentic Thai cuisine (prepared by a crack team of Thai chefs) in a striking setting that will need to be seen to be believed ... more

Lounge in luxury with silk sleepwear from Maison Essentiele

When it comes to sleeping attire, comfort is king. Sure, pretty has its place but generally, if there's a choice – it's the old faithful band tee you inherited from an ex with holes under the arms that trumps pretty every time. What if we told you there was a way you could have both? Maison Essentiele has created a collection of luxurious sustainable sleepwear that will have you looking but more importantly feeling fabulous while you snooze. more

Gan bei! Sip and sup at The Valley’s new late-night hang Ling Ling

The true indicator of a city on the rise is the health of its late-night dining scene. Ling Ling's – Fortitude Valley's new neon-lit Hong Kong-inspired party spot – is giving the entertainment precinct a much-need boost in these stakes, with a menu featuring a tantalising array of pan-Asian eats (dumplings, anyone?), colourful cocktails and the kind of social atmosphere that warrants regular visits. more

Win one of ten double passes to see Queen & Slim

From two-time Grammy Award-winning director Melina Matsoukas (HBO’s Insecure, the Emmy award-winning “Thanksgiving” episode of Netflix’s Master of None, and Beyonce’s Formation) and from trailblazing, Emmy-winning writer Lena Waithe (Netflix’s Master of None), comes the unflinching new drama, Queen & Slim. While on a forgettable first date together in Ohio, a black man (Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya) and a black woman (Jodie Turner-Smith), are pulled over for a minor traffic infraction. The situation escalates, with sudden and tragic results, when the man kills the police officer in self-defence. Terrified and in fear for their lives, the man, a retail employee, and the woman, a criminal defence lawyer, are forced to go on the run. But the incident is captured on video and goes viral, and the couple unwittingly becomes a symbol of trauma, terror, grief and pain for people… more
